Ave Maria Catholic Cemetery

Point of Interest:
The large black crucifix (shown in the photo above) in the lower part of the cemetery was erected in 1916 by the Martin family on the site of the original two churches. The first church was erected in 1859 and destroyed by fire in 1869. The second church was dedicated in July 1870 and destroyed by fire in November 1876. It was always rumored that the local KKK was responsible for the fires. The third church was built and dedicated in August 1883 on "Dudley Hill".
Cemetery Cleanup

Twice a year, we clean up our parish cemetery. The dates will be published in our bulletin. To the best of your ability please remove all decorations that you would like to keep

(This is in keeping with our posted policy that says the bi-annual cleanup will occur during the months of April and October.)

The Cemetery policy is available at https://www.iccdudley.com/ave-maria-cemetery.html

Where possible, removed decorations can be claimed for a limited time at ICC Church - Call 814-635-2919
