Ave Maria Catholic Cemetery
Point of Interest:
The large black crucifix (shown in the photo above) in the lower part of the cemetery was erected in 1916 by the Martin family on the site of the original two churches. The first church was erected in 1859 and destroyed by fire in 1869. The second church was dedicated in July 1870 and destroyed by fire in November 1876. It was always rumored that the local KKK was responsible for the fires. The third church was built and dedicated in August 1883 on "Dudley Hill".

Cemetery Cleanup
Twice a year, we clean up our parish cemetery. The dates will be published in our bulletin. To the best of your ability please remove all decorations that you would like to keep
(This is in keeping with our posted policy that says the bi-annual cleanup will occur during the months of April and October.)

Cemetery Prices (as of Sept 2019) Burial Privilege Fee Schedule (Burial Privileges are sold in plots of up to 4 graves) 1 Grave Plot - $350 2 Grave Plot - $550 3 Grave Plot $750 4 Grave Plot $950 Standard corner-markers are included in the burial privilege cost. Specialized corner markers will be assessed at cost. 50% of all sale of Burial Privileges will be used for the perpetual care fund. Up to 50% will be used for the maintenance fund. Grave Opening Fee Schedule (The grave opening fee is typically included in the funeral director's fees and paid to the cemetery by the funeral director.) $300 Cremation Funeral $650 Casket Funeral as of December 2021 Cemetery Committee Members: Dan Maslanik, Kirby Lockard.

Memorial Permits
Prior to placing memorials/gravestone, the stone must be approved. The memorial permit fee Is $50.00 Below is the permit form for approval. ![]()
